The france bioproduction congress 2023: genopole takes on the challenge of partnered innovation

The seventh edition of the France Bioproduction Congress, co-organized by Polepharma and Medicen Paris Region, was held 5–6 April 2023. The event united and federated all of the actors in biomanufacturing, a sector where Genopole has a good seat at the table. The congress was held under the aegis of Roland Lescure, Minister Delegate for Industry.

Genopole’s participation at the event stood out particularly, with its biomanufacturing platforms, start-up accompaniment programs, and leadership role in COBIOE, a European program aimed at creating a continent-wide biomanufacturing network. A Gold Partner for the event, Genopole was able to present its expertise and lead a workshop entitled “The Challenges in Innovation for Biomanufacturing: how to accelerate tomorrow’s processes.”

A roundtable debate benefitted from the presence of several experts in the sector, including Cédrick Rousseaux, deputy director of innovation, analytical and process development at Yposkesi, Joëlle Dumas, director of business development biomanufacturing at Groupe IMT, Christophe Lanneau, director of research & platforms at Genopole, Éric Henriet, CEO of Suparbiotech International and president-CEO of Texcell S.A., and Anne Galy, director of the Genomic Therapy Technology Research Accelerator (ART-TG) at Inserm.

They shared their visions of the future of biomanufacturing and discussed strategies to accelerate innovation processes, particularly by favoring partnerships between the sector’s actors and investing in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, synthetic biology and automated production. Current recruitment difficulties for biomanufacturing careers were also discussed in depth.

The congress included a pitching session, which allowed two Genopole companies (STH Biotech, bYoRNA) and a Genopole alumni (WhiteLab Genomics) to promote their activities in the biomanufacturing sector.
