Setting its sights on East Asia, a team travelled to Japan and South Korea on 7–18 October to present Genopole’s missions and ambitions. During its exploratory journey, the team also established contacts with pharmaceutical corporations, investors and local bioclusters, all seeking biotech innovations and open to international partnerships.
East Asia is a promising and dynamic market as concerns healthcare.
The Japanese government is investing massively in regenerative medicine and biomedical innovation, and South Korea is adopting an open approach to collaborative innovation with international partners.
The main objective of this prospection mission was to seize partnership opportunities in the region with major groups, investment funds, or Asian bioclusters with orientations similar to those of Genopole. The pharmaceutical corporations headquartered there show great interest for partnerships with biotechs, notably in the setting of geographic expansion toward Europe.
